Privacy Policy for Nexbook

Last Updated: December 9, 2025

Nexbook ("we," "our," or "us") is dedicated to safeguarding the privacy and digital sovereignty of its user base. This Privacy Policy delineates the protocols governing the acquisition, retention, utilization, and disclosure of personal and technical data when engaging with our digital ecosystem, accessible via nexbook.tech, including but not limited to NexBook, Thinkly AI, NEX Social, NEXSTAY, and associated student marketplace utilities.

By accessing or utilizing the Platform, you explicitly consent to the data practices described in this Policy.

1. Information Acquisition Protocols

To facilitate the provision of our specialized academic and social services, we aggregate specific categories of data through both direct submission and automated telemetry.

1.1. Authentication & Identity Verification (Firebase)

Upon the initiation of user registration or account synchronization mediated through third-party identity management solutions, specifically Firebase Authentication, we systematically harvest and archive the following verifiable credentials to establish your unique digital identity:

Digital Contact Identifiers: Your primary electronic mail designation (email address).

Legal Nomenclature: Your full name as provided during the authentication handshake.

Institutional Affiliation Metrics: Explicit identifiers validating your association with S.S. Jain Subodh P.G. College, including but not limited to student identification numbers or roll numbers, contingent upon your voluntary submission of such data.

Visual Representation: Profile imagery associated with your federated identity account.

1.2. Marketplace & Transactional Data

For the execution of peer-to-peer asset exchanges (Buying/Selling/Donating/Swapping):

Listing Attributes: Metadata pertaining to academic resources (Title, Author, Edition, Condition, Pricing).

Contact Coordinates: Telephonic contact details (WhatsApp/Phone) voluntarily disclosed to facilitate offline handover coordination.

1.3. User-Generated Content (Social & AI)

Social Interactions: Textual or media content disseminated via the NEX social feed.

AI Input Vectors: Textual prompts, queries, and PDF documents uploaded for processing via Thinkly AI or the AI Quiz Generator.

2. AI Data Governance & Neural Processing Integrity

We maintain a strict data governance framework regarding the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) components within our Platform.

2.1. Purpose of Data Retention

In the context of 'Thinkly AI', 'AI Quiz Generator', and 'Image Generator', user-generated inputs and interaction logs are retained within our encrypted database infrastructure exclusively for the purpose of session persistence. This ensures that upon re-authentication, users can retrieve their historical interaction logs (e.g., "Chat History") for continuity of experience.

2.2. Non-Usage for Algorithmic Training

We hereby categorically warrant that:

Individual user data, prompts, and uploaded documents are strictly quarantined from any machine learning training pipelines.

We do not utilize user data to train, fine-tune, or parameterize our foundational AI models.

We do not engage in the surveillance or manual analytical profiling of private AI interactions.

The data retention is purely functional, serving solely as a retrieval mechanism for the user, ensuring that your academic queries remain your private intellectual property.

3. Utilization of Information

The information aggregated is utilized strictly under the following operational directives:

Service Provisioning: To authenticate identity, manage academic resource listings, and provide access to the repository of 5000+ PDFs and course materials.

Operational Execution: To facilitate the offline handover of books and essentials between distinct entities (Buyers and Sellers) within the campus perimeter.

System Administration: To disseminate critical updates regarding terms, policy modifications, or security patches.

Security Enforcement: To monitor for fraudulent activity, enforce community guidelines on NEX Social, and maintain the integrity of the Platform.

4. Disclosure & Third-Party Integration

We adhere to a stringent non-disclosure policy regarding personal data, subject to the following specific integration requirements:

4.1. Federated Service Providers

We may transmit encrypted data packets to trusted third-party vendors who assist in operating our Platform, specifically:

Backend Infrastructure: Google Firebase (for authentication, database hosting, and analytics).

AI Processing Units: Third-party API providers (e.g., Pollinations.ai) required solely for the generation of immediate responses. Inputs sent to these services are stripped of direct personal identifiers where technically feasible.

4.2. Peer-to-Peer Visibility

In the context of the Student Marketplace and NEX Social, specific identity data (Name, Profile Picture, Contact Number) will be rendered visible to other authenticated users to facilitate the fundamental purpose of social interaction and asset exchange.

4.3. Legal Compliance

We reserve the right to disclose information if required by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal edicts or protect the rights, property, or safety of Nexbook, its users, or the public.

5. Data Security Architecture

We have implemented robust technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the integrity of your personal information. While we employ industry-standard encryption protocols for data in transit and at rest, users acknowledge that no digital transmission architecture is infallible. Engagement with the Platform constitutes acceptance of this inherent digital risk.

6. Policy for Minors

The Platform is architected specifically for the collegiate demographic. We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to individuals under the age of 13. Any inadvertent collection of such data, upon verification, will be subjected to immediate deletion protocols.

7. Modifications to This Policy

We reserve the unilateral right to amend, modify, or supersede this Privacy Policy at our discretion. Continued utilization of the Platform following the posting of any changes constitutes binding acceptance of those changes. The "Last Updated" legend at the top of this document indicates the effective date of the current governance framework.
